Foods in the Phil.

Raul Oteyza Concepcion III is a Student of Baguio Patriotic High School (BPHS) located at #21 Harrison Road, Baguio City, Philippines.. He is currently at Grade 9 or 3rd year level and was tasked to create a blog that will show the different types of food that the tourists can eat when they visited His beautiful country, the Philippines. He wanted to show how delicious and creative the Filipinos in making diferent kinds of delicacies So he is hoping that every readers that will have a chance to read this will enjoy.




LET'S GET STARTED !!!

1) Kamote Pie

 1st food that he is going to show you is the " Kamote Pie ". That  is one of the sweetest food that you are going to taste if you are going to visit Baguio City, Philippines. It is available at the " Arcas Yard " restaurant located at Ambuklao Baguio, Benguet. It is hard to find the location of Arcas Yard Restaurant but when you reach the place, he is really sure that you are going to enjoy your food and you are going to have a peaceful time. Kamote Pie is made up from "Kamoteng Kahoy" that gives the dessert a color orange texture. It also have a one scoop of vanilla ice cream on top that makes it sweeter. on top of the vanilla ice cream, they put a teaspoonful of brown sugar so Raul is expecting that you'll gonna love it a lot.

2) Kalamay

 Calamcay is a sweet delicacy that is made from coconut
milk, brown sugar, and ground glutinous rice. Calamay is the best product of the Ilocos Region found in the northern part of the Philippines. Calamay is color brown and in the picture, you can see that it is wrapped in a yema wrapper and it is quite thin. Calamay is a sticky food that makes it unique compared to the other desserts. It an also be flavored with margarine, peanut butter, or vanilla. but still, it has a good taste and Raul is very sure that you are going to love it because of its sweet and affordable price.

3) Pork Barbecue
Raul thinks that pork barbecue is already familiar to all of
you because of its creaminess and sweetness and most of the countries already have their own
versions of barbecue. Pork Barbecue is made from pork that is being cut into a small particles and is being stick, in a barbecue stick The barbecue on the picture can be bought at the " Night Market" of San Isidro, Nueva Ecija. Usually, Filipino dips it in a vinegar with chili because it makes the barbecue tastier. But you can also dip it on a barbecue sauce that is quite sweet but still, it really tastes good. Soooo, He really hope that you will have so much fun while eating pork barbecue and he is really sure that all of you will going to enjoy it.

4) Nachos

Raul also thinks that nachos is already a familiar dish to all of you because Nachos can be bought everywhere and not only here in the Philippines. The dish is composed of tortilla chips covered with cheese or cheese-based sauce, and is
often served as a snack. Also, nachos has a beef on top of it and nachos are really really the best because it is crunchy because of its tortilla chips. Nachos can be bought everywhere here in the
Philippines that is why all Filipino loves eating nachos because of its popularity. The nachos in the picture can be bought at Silantro Restaurant located at Dagupan City, Pangasinan.

5) Squid Balls

 Squid Balls!!! are made from pure squid mixed with flours and some other spices.Squid Balls Is being formed into a ball to make it looks like a ball. It is usually eaten during afternoons and for the Filipinos, they take it as their "MIRYENDA" because squid ball
really fits with this time.Squid Balls can also be dip in a sweet sauce or with a vinegar. Squid ball is a street food and don't be afraid to eat it because street foods here in the Philippines are really really safe and clean so it will be safe for your body. Squid Ball is one of the most favorite street food of Raul here in the Philippines so he is recommending all of you to taste it when the time comes that you are going to visit the Philippines.

6) Bubble Waffle

 Bubble waffle is made up from waffle filled with vanilla ice cream, marshmallows, pepero, sprinkles, oreo, crushed oreo, and chocolate syrup. The chocolate
syrup is the one that makes the waffle more sweeter. After combining all of the ingredients, they are going to place the waffle in a cup to prevent spilling. Bubble waffle is actually the name of the store
and the name of the dessert is Bubble waffle because they call their products as Bubble Waffle. Bubble waffle has different flavors like chocolates, strawberry and many more. The flavor depends on what flavor of ice cream would you like to taste. Bubble waffle is one of the stalls at SM Supermalls.

7) Strawberry Cheesecake Smoothie

 Strawberry Cheesecake Smoothie is the best! because the
people that will be able to taste it will really feel that it is made up from strawberries because while drinking the smoothie, you will really feel the small particles of strawberries. The smoothie on the
picture was captured by Raul at "Siblings Nook Cafe". Th smoothie also has a topping of whipped cream and a chocolate. Although the taste of the strawberry is dominant, the taste of a cheesecake will never be gone so Raul really hopes that you will be able to taste when you are going to visit SM City Baguio, Philippines.

8) Double Dutch Frappe

 YES! The Frappe in the picture is a product of "Infinitea",
One of the most famous coffee shop here in the Philippines. The frappe in the picture is Double Dutch Flavor with pearls or what we call the "SAGO". The pearls makes the frappe tastier and unique
from the other coffee shops. Infinitea offers more flavors but double dutch is one of my favorite and Raul is assuring to all of you that their Frappes are affordable.

9) Mang Inasal

 Mang Inasal is one of the most famous fast food chains here in the Philippines. It is known for its unlimited rice or "UNLI RICE" They offer two kinds of chicken meal. The first is the PM1 which is what on the picture while the other is called as PM2.
PM2 has a larger or bigger chicken than PM1 while PM1 has a cheaper price than the PM2 but still, It is affordable. Before eating, Filipinos usually puts a chicken oil in the rice and they will put some
condiments on the chicken like  the soy or vinegar. You will really appreciate the dish if you will put chili in the soy.

10) Calamares

 YAAY!!! Raul is really really happy for sharing one type of unforgettable food, the " Clamares ". He was very excited to share this to all of you because this food is really really delicious. Calamares or "Calamari" is made out of squid that is being dip in an egg and rolled in a bread crumbs. After the process, they are going to deep fry so that it will be crunchy. Calamares is usually being served in a plate but as you can see, the calamares on the picure was served on a stick that makes the dish more unique than the usual calamares. The calamaes on the picture is quite sweet but it's okay because it really blends together with the other
condiments. You will not be able to notice that it is calamares because when you bite it, at first, the texture of the dish is like a meat but it is a squid. Calamares is perfect specially if you are going to eat
it with a cold beverage. The picture was captured at the "Liberty Food Park" located at Dagupan City, Pangasinan. That calamares is really delicious and unforgettable so I am encouraging you to try it when you visit the Philippines. Calamares is also available on the different parts of the country so you will no going to have a hard time to find it.

11) BFF Fries

 FRIES!FRIES!FRIES!!!
Raul knows that all of you are already familiar with the french fries of one of the most popular Fast
Food chain here in the Philippines.... McDonald's!!! Their french Fries is the best because you will
really feel that it is really made out of potato. It is a potato that was sliced into strips and being fried, after a deep fry, they will put it on a container and they will pour a salt. You will also enjoy the food because their servings is really good and they will really make your stomach full. McDonald's has different size of fries, they have Regular, Medium, and Large. It will be more tastier if you are going to dip it on a ketchup. So He is hoping that all of you will gonna love it!!!

12) Oreo InfiniTea Frappe

 Raul is going to show you the second type of frappe of InfiniTea, the oreo flavor. This frappe is made out of crushed oreo, milk, sugar, and many more ingredients. This will be more tastier if you are going to add pearls because it will be incomplete if pearls are absent in the dish. There are. Soooo, Raul is highly recommending all of you
to try this frappe that is available at every InfiniTea coffee shop here in the Philippines because it will really make your body refresh and relax considering that every branch is very quiet and peaceful.


13) Choco Latte

 this choco latte is a product of Siblings Nook Cafe located at SM City Baguio, Philippines. This latte is hot and creamy. It is made out of chocolate powder and sugar but the sugar is surely balance because it is not that sweet but not that bitter. After putting the ingredients together, they will put a Hot water for you to feel the heat while relaxing and
inhaling the fresh cool air at the veranda of the SM Baguio. It is perfect to drink if you guys will
drink it with a slice of cake.

14) Oreo Frappe

 This is another type of an oreo frappe that is available at the quiche cafe located at Camp 7, Kennon Rd. Baguio City. The coffee shop is still not that popular because it just open last August 28, 2017. The frappe is made out of Crushed oreo and ice that is being blend with sugar and milk. on top of the frappe, you guys ill see another oreo but the different thing is the oreo on top of it is not crushed. There is also a whipped cream above the dish that makes
it more presentable and comfortable to eat because when you are going to see the frappe for the first
time, you are going to see to it that it is clean and safe to drink. Soooooo, Raul is really hoping that all of you will have a chance to visit the quiche cafe and try there awesome frappes and pastries.
